 Commodore Holdings Limited operated five cruise ships through its wholly and partially owned subsidiaries. The company owned three cruise ships, the S/S Enchanted Isle, the S/S Universe Explorer, and the M/V Enchanted Sun, and had chartered two additional ships, the M/V Enchanted Capri and the M/V Crown Dynasty. It offered two cruise brands, Commodore Cruise Line and Crown Cruise Line, and also offered educational cruises. Commodore Cruise Line served the standard cruise market. In December, 2000, the company suspended its cruise operations and filed petitions with the United States Bankruptcy Court for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Up until the date of the filings, the company had been involved in negotiations with all of the company's lenders to enable the company to continue its operations and was unable to conclude those negotiations.
