| IShares Silver Trust's purpose is to own silver transferred to Co. in exchange for shares issued by Co. Each iShare represents a fractional undivided beneficial interest in the net assets of Co. The activities of Co. are limited to (1) issuing Baskets of iShares in exchange for the silver deposited with the custodian as consideration, (2) selling silver as necessary to cover the sponsor's fee, trust expenses not assumed by the sponsor and other liabilities and (3) delivering silver in exchange for Baskets of iShares surrendered for redemption.
